Local bases launch Semper Ride in an effort to better train motorcycling Marines

June 25, 2009 -The Marine Corps' motorcycle safety programs "get repetitive," said Lance Cpl. Chris Brock. Thursday's Semper Ride program, however, broke the training sessions' boring streak. "This is definitely pretty cool, the whole thing," Brock said as he watched three professional stunt riders drive their street bikes up one ramp and fly onto the next.

Marne Corps Working to Keep Servicemembers Safe on Motorcycles

June 25, 2009 -It’s a sobering statistic—more Marines died in motorcycle crashes last year than died fighting in Iraq. So the Marine Corps is continuing to educate service men and women about how to stay safe on the road. Camp Lejeune hosted a motorsports safety fair Thursday. The event featured vendors and a lot of educational information on how to ride safely.

A basic rider course for Marines with sport bikes was held near Lejeune Hall last month, to equip them with basic knowledge and skill to operate motorcycles proficiently and help lower the number of Marines killed in motorcycle accidents each year.

A 'Smart' Modification to Cape Fox's Navy Traffic Safety Contract.

Mar 26, 2009 -Cape Fox Professional Services (CPFS) has been awarded a $400,000.00 modification to the Traffic Safety and Recreational Off-Duty Safety (TS/RODS) Contract with the Navy. The modification calls for the introduction of 61 Honda SMARTrainer (Safe Motorcyclist Awareness and Recognition Trainer) motorcycle simulators at Navy installations worldwide.
